ELIGIBILITY
• The Big V Junior and Big V Senior Individual Competition is open to all members of clubs affiliated to PSSA. (you do not have to be a PSSA member).
• You must be a Junior in your club on 31 May 2026, and a Senior in your club on 31 May 2026, to enter into the Junior and Senior section respectively.
• You will enter this competition as in INDIVIDUAL - your club does not enter for you, you enter yourself!

IMAGES
• 1920 x 1080 pixels, less than 2megs (as per any salon entry).

HOW TO ENTER
• Pay your Entry Fee, and receive a POP from your bank.
• Go to the THE BIG "V" Entry Form page.
• You will fill in your Name, Club Name and Junior/Senior rating.
• You will then fill in the Caption for your image, and upload your Image.
• You will repeat this caption/image upload for each Category.
• Finally, you will be asked to upload your POP (Proof of Payment). Your entry cannot be submitted until your POP has been uploaded.

DATE LIMITATION
There is no date limitation. Enter your best images! You may enter the same image/s that is/are chosen to represent your club for this year’s Interclub Competition.

DEADLINE
Upload your Portfolio by 23:59 on Wednesday 10 June 2026.

THE FIVE CATEGORIES THAT WILL MAKE UP YOUR PORTFOLIO ARE:
Open Colour
Open Monochrome
Nature/Wildlife - colour
Portraiture (humans) - colour or mono
Scapes - colour

Your images do not have to have a theme (as per an Honours panel) - you enter your BEST images.

DEFINITIONS
PSSA definitions and restrictions apply to all the categories.
PSSA definitions and restrictions regarding AI are applicable to this competition, in all categories.

DISQUALIFICATIONS
Images that do not conform to the category definitions, will be disqualified by the Regional Director. The entry fee will be forfeited.

GENERAL RULES
You must enter ONE image into each category - failure to enter all FIVE categories will result in your entry being disqualified. You will forfeit your entry fee. You may enter only ONE portfolio per photographer.

JUDGING
1. A panel of three judges, who do not belong to any KZN affiliated club, will be chosen by the Regional Director.
2. As keeping with PSSA rules for salons, any image that the Regional Director considers pornographic or offensive to the public may, on consultation with the judges, be disqualified.
3. The Regional Director will request the original RAW/JPG file(s) with the EXIF data intact from those Entrants who have been placed 1st, 2nd and 3rd in the Junior and the Senior competition. Entrants will be allowed 3 days to provide the Original RAW/JPG file(s) for these Non-Manipulation Categories, where after the Entrant will not be eligible for any placements. If the Regional Director confirms that the image/s has not been manipulated, then the award will stand for those Entrants.
4. The judges will each award a mark from 1 to 15 points for each image.
5. The judges’ decision is final, and no correspondence will be considered.
6. Should there be a tie for first place, an independent judge will be appointed, and will choose the winning portfolio.
7. The results will be announced at the PSSA KZN Congress on Saturday 15 August 2026.
8. Certificates will be awarded to 3rd and 2nd places in both the Junior and Senior sections. The winners, the Big V Junior and the Big V Senior, will each receive a Certificate and a Floating Trophy.

WINNERS
The photographers with the most points in total will be the Winner in the Junior section and Senior section. The Winners and Runnersup will be announced at the 2026 PSSA KZN Congress.
